Arlanda Airport
Arlanda is the largest airport in Sweden and hence the main airport in Stockholm, most domestic and internal flights fly here and the passengers are served from four different terminals. International flights leave from Terminal 2, 4 or 5, while domestic flights leave from Terminal 3.
You can travel to and from Arlanda to Stockholm by train, either Arlanda Express which goes directly to the Stockholm Central Station and takes about 18 minutes, you can find timetable and buy tickets at arlandaexpress.se as well as from ticket automats at the station or their ticket office at Stockholm Central, please notice that it costs 100 SEK extra to buy tickets onboard the train. This is my preferred way to travel between Arlanda and Stockholm, it’s fast and comfortable, however if you are looking for a cheaper option then the commuter train or bus will be a better option.
You can also take the commuter train, this takes about 40 minutes to Stockholm City (connected to the Central Station), for more information check out sl.se. You can also take the airport bus which will take about 45 minutes to Cityterminalen, which is next to Stockholm Central Station, tickets and timetables can be found at flygbussarna.se, you can also buy tickets from ticket machines or onboard the bus. Please notice that these buses stops at several places and goes to more than one destination.
Taxis can be found outside terminals, my recommendation is to take one from an approved company, see “Travel around Stockholm” for a full list. Always agree the price before taking a taxi from Arlanda, all taxis will accept VISA/Mastercard cards, check with your driver if they accept American Express, most should do.
Bromma Airport
Bromma Airport has some domestic flights- Airport buses will take you to Cityterminalen in about 20 minutes, timetable and tickets can be found at flygbussarna.se. You can also take local bus 110 to Brommaplan and there from take the subway to the city centre, this will take about an 45 minutes, excluding waiting time or bus 152 and either jump off at Alvik or Liljeholmen for access to the subway.
Skavsta Airport
Skavsta Airport is many served by low-cost companies and is located south of Stockholm, near the city of Nyköping. Airport buses will take you to Cityterminalen in about 1 hour and 10 minutes, more information at flygbussarna.se or take the local bus 515 to Nyköping, which has train access to Stockholm.
