Travel around Stockholm
Public communications are excellent in Stockholm and the best way to get around when you don’t want or can’t walk. SL is the company responsible for all public communications in Stockholm.

T is the sign for the metro (Tunnelbana) and J för trains/railway (Järnväg)
Tickets
Your SL ticket will be valid on all metro, local buses (not airport buses), trams and commuter trains as well as on some ferries.
You can either buy single journey tickets or travelcards, if you will use the communications regularly during your stay I would recommend the travelcards as they give unlimited access for either 24 hours, 72 hours or 7 days. If you are staying longer there is a 30-day option.
For single-tickets it’s cheapest to get the pre-paid ones, an adult fare is then 40 SEK, these can be bought from the SL app, ticketing machines at the station, from the SL centers (Sergels Torg, Slussen, Tekniska Högskolan, Fridhemsplan or Gullmarsplan) or at the different ticket agents, you can spot these by looking for the SL symbol, see below.
You can now pay for standard tickets with your credit/debit card if it supports wireless payments (VISA, American Express and Mastercard), it will cost 40 SEK and is valid for 75 minutes across the SL network.
